Which workflow fits?
DeepSeek Harness (dsh) is an agent harness, not the DeepSeek model API. Its official repository describes a Cordis-based plugin architecture and a Web UI. Compare it with AX Code at the runtime and workflow level.
| Consideration | AX Code | DeepSeek Harness |
|---|---|---|
| Primary emphasis | Coding sessions with execution records, comparison and snapshot-based recovery. | A plugin-oriented harness built on Cordis. |
| Entry point | Terminal UI, CLI and local service interfaces. | The documented quickstart launches a local Web UI with dsh web. |
| Evaluation focus | Inspect graph and comparison output; test recovery and candidate verification on a real repository. | Evaluate the plugin lifecycle and the tools, persistence and permissions provided by your chosen configuration. |
Include WebMCP in your comparison
With the experimental WebMCP bridge, AX Code can read pages, call tools a website exposes and interact with its interface. It starts disabled and opens an isolated Chrome window when you enable it.
Check whether each coding agent can discover and call page-registered WebMCP tools, how it handles browser profiles and approvals, and which setup it requires. Evaluate the same website and task. MCP server connections and general browser automation alone do not establish WebMCP support; check each product’s current documentation.
What to evaluate with AX Code
Open AX Code in your repository and use /connect to choose a supported local runtime, cloud API, coding CLI or private GPU endpoint. Choose your sandbox and permission settings before granting access to unfamiliar code. Ordinary sessions do not automatically enforce your project’s test suite. Run the repository’s checks and inspect the diff. Use the session graph to see recorded steps and tool calls. A recorded check failure remains a failure; the agent’s completion message is not proof that a patch is correct.
AX Code Business is planned. The website’s illustrative speed display is not a benchmark against DeepSeek Harness.
Docs ↗Is this a comparison of DeepSeek models?
No. DeepSeek Harness is the runtime project being compared. Model choice is a separate decision. A useful comparison specifies both the harness configuration and the model used.
Try a representative task
Use separate clean checkouts and the same acceptance tests. For each harness, record which tools ran, what changed, what can be recovered and what customization was needed. Do not infer missing features from a short README.
