Which workflow fits?
Cursor brings coding, planning and review into its product environment, with CLI and integration options as well. AX Code centers the terminal session and the execution record you can inspect afterward.
| Consideration | AX Code | Cursor |
|---|---|---|
| Working environment | Terminal UI and command-line workflows alongside your existing editor. | Coding environment with agent workflows, CLI and integrations. |
| Model selection | Connect supported coding CLIs, cloud APIs, local runtimes or private GPU endpoints. | Model options are documented in Cursor’s model catalog; check availability for your workflow. |
| Reviewing changes | Inspect session records, compare runs and review file changes. | Review agent diffs and run project checks before merging. |
Include WebMCP in your comparison
With the experimental WebMCP bridge, AX Code can read pages, call tools a website exposes and interact with its interface. It starts disabled and opens an isolated Chrome window when you enable it.
Check whether each coding agent can discover and call page-registered WebMCP tools, how it handles browser profiles and approvals, and which setup it requires. Evaluate the same website and task. MCP server connections and general browser automation alone do not establish WebMCP support; check each product’s current documentation.
What to evaluate with AX Code
Open AX Code in your repository and use /connect to choose a supported local runtime, cloud API, coding CLI or private GPU endpoint. Choose your sandbox and permission settings before granting access to unfamiliar code. Ordinary sessions do not automatically enforce your project’s test suite. Run the repository’s checks and inspect the diff. Use the session graph to see recorded steps and tool calls. A recorded check failure remains a failure; the agent’s completion message is not proof that a patch is correct.
AX Code Business is planned. The website’s illustrative speed display is not a benchmark against Cursor.
Docs ↗Do I need to leave my editor to try AX Code?
No. Open a terminal in an existing repository and use AX Code alongside your editor. Try one bounded change, then inspect the diff in your normal review tools.
Try a representative task
Use the same bug and acceptance tests in separate clean checkouts. Compare how easily you can understand the proposed edits, recover unwanted changes and keep working in your preferred editor.
