Which workflow fits?
This page compares the coding agents, not a model named Codex. Local inference and reusable skills are not exclusive to AX Code: Codex documents local-provider mode and skills too.

What to evaluate with AX Code
AX Code Standard is open source under Apache-2.0. Its terminal workflow supports connected local or cloud models, recorded execution, file-change review and session comparison. Local model performance depends on your hardware and selected model. External services may charge for usage.
AX Code Business is planned. The website’s illustrative speed display is not a benchmark against Codex.

Name the exact product surface, model, permissions and configuration. When possible, hold the task and model constant. A throughput number from one local model does not establish that its agent harness is better.
Try a representative task
Give both agents a small failing test in clean checkouts. Inspect the resulting patch, tool history, cost and recovery behavior. Run acceptance checks yourself and compare the evidence available after completion.
